Freezing Temperatures!

Dear Residents,

Beginning today, through all next week, we will be experiencing temperatures with lows well below zero and highs in the single digits.

Newer homes will struggle to maintain temperature, older homes will NOT preserve temperature, and the temperature WILL drop while the heating system is working at full capacity.

Below, we've included some useful information and tips to keep your units and our community safe.

1. Please raise the temperature in your home by 2 to 4 degrees above your typical setting.

2. Take all programmable thermostats out of setback mode and set them on a permanent HOLD.

3. If you have a furnace, replace the filter.

4. Limit opening exterior doors.

5. Make sure air vents and radiators are not blocked or obstructed.

6. Keep your sink cabinet doors and shower curtains open.

7. Drip cold water in the farthest faucet from your main valve.

This is very important, as we are trying to avoid pipe damage.

Pipes that freeze will leave you with no water and are at risk of bursting and causing significant damage to the plumbing system and individual units.

If your unit is vacant or you are out of town, please make sure the heat is running.
